97% America Rooting for the "Not-Heat"

So it has come to this. Like the bully in an 80's high school movie.

Like Mr. Vader in Star Wars.

Like asteroids in the Jurassic period.

All of America has a common NBA enemy. One that can bypass any previous rivalry's. (Example: Being a Lakers fan and rooting for Boston to beat them, if that be the case.) America, as a whole, are taking their booing talents to south beach.

For me, still going for the sake of the NBA; I think this is a great thing. And let's keep in mind, that Miami brought this on themselves. For whatever reasons, they want to be the bad guys. It's obviously a pride thing. But we've all gone through those stages.

So they're easy to hate, because they ask for it.

I polled 101 people about who they were rooting for... Discounting the fact that the NBA is rarely discussed in Missouri.... Most people (97%) were rooting for anyone that wasn't the Heat to win the Championship.

What a concept. They are now on a different scale of being a "like them or hate them" team. That kind of team belonged to the Yankee's in the MLB, the Cowboys in the NFL, and Lakers in the NBA. Teams that you either are fervently rooting against, or are a fan.

However, the Heat have broken those one league barriers and seem to be just a natural enemy. It's like the "King's of the World" aspect has truly gotten to everybody.

I'm sure everyone can agree that the Heat are unmistakably very talented. Lebron James is without a doubt the best basketball player that is at least visible in this world.

I mean anyone who can do this nonchalantly...

....Are by no means over-rated.

But that being of no matter; come game time Heat, one things for sure: the world is rooting against you.
Yes, you'll just nod that as being something that you love because it motivates you. But there has to be a point where, objectively, just trying to be the most famous thing in the world is going to fade.

I had a person ask me if I would say the things I say to the players faces. Which really made me consider not only what goes on this blog, but what I discuss in general.

But this is a case where, of course I would. But be that as it may... It's going to be fun watching the playoffs continue.

And to everyone out there who haven't really given the NBA a chance...put on your "Not-Heat" foam-fingers and enjoy.

Battle Los Angeles

The title would be better fitted if it were actually a battle between the two LA teams. But I'm a sucker for movie puns, so let's keep with it for now.

I hope the readers can remember my constant reminder that I try to stay unbiased about my team, the Dallas Mavericks. In general it's pretty easy; I just stay objective and go by the facts.

Well the facts go as follows:

This eighth seed in the western conference is literally anybody's ballgame. (My best blog sentence)

The Lakers might be receiving some tenacity after Kobe breaking Wilt's point record, a fire that want's them to make the playoffs, and just overall great talent. Though that talent hasn't been displayed well this season, let's just remember that they have it, and when push comes to shove, it will probably come to their advantage in the clutch.

The Jazz seem to be playing with the biggest underdog spirit. Mixed with an excellent front court combo that isn't seen in the NBA with teams at this point. However, if the NFL is a quarterback league right now, the NBA is definitely a point guard league. Just look at the overall talent of point guards around the association. Pretty much every team has a point guard that we could see in the hall of fame at one point. There are a few exceptions though. And Utah is one of them. So though their big game may be beneficial, I could see the point guard position taking them over within the next couple weeks.

The Mavericks are ones that are looking to just break what they've done this season. Just by what we've seen throughout the year, you would assume that Dallas is the weakest team of the three. However, I think it was just a matter of getting acclimated.  They seem to be playing with a rough edge that is combined with excellent teamwork. Not to mention that Nowitzki is by no means out of his realm age-wise. Maybe he can pull another awesome streak like 2011. Keep in mind it was only 2 years ago he did that. And with the easiest schedule in the last couple weeks, I see the Mavericks being able to pull out the 8th spot.

Will this even matter in the playoffs?

We'll see, you'll see.... http://youtu.be/sgSNJ6ZQmF8?t=20s

Miami's Streak Will End at 27! So close.

As of 3/22/2013, as writer of Clint's Point's Per Game, I'm making a statement that the Miami Heats winning streak will end at 27.

The team they'll lose to?.......
....
....
....

The Chicago Bulls.

Lebron will have a triple-double, however.

Let the premonition commence!

Battleships Confide in Me

"In the Heat of Moment," Paul Pierce, "Yours is No Disgrace."

The Heat are starting to look more and more like a team that could show true vulnerability as the coming months unfold. The January 27th loss to the Celtics showed just that.

A weak Boston team was able to muscle some fiber, and use Doc Rivers' potential as a coach to out-duel the Miami team.

Here's a breakdown of the season otherwise:

-Kobe's "sharability" will be a huge factor in the Lakers' chances of making the playoffs.

-Golden State is not just a fun team to see do good anymore. They're offense is showing some progression; even after a year like last year.

-A Clipper is a ship. A Blake Griffin is a ship.

-Showing my biased side, I think the Mavericks can recollect and become something before it's too late. (Playoffs)

-If the Knicks are able to work with great tenacity as a function of Carmelo and Stoudemire. (Which we haven't fully seen yet.) Then they are the best team in the league.

-Kyrie Irving is probably the most underrated player in the league. And people know about him.

-Birdman is not a ship.
